I’ve had a love affair with Santorini for as long as I can remember. The whitewashed stone buildings, the roofs so blue they look almost neon, the ocean crashing against volcanic cliffsides, warm summer nights… And lets not forget the olives! Judging by the growing number of Greek destination weddings, I don’t think I’m alone in my obsession.
The funny thing is, there are a lot of destination wedding invitation sets out there, but not too many with a specifically Greek feel. It’s such a special place, and there are soooo many brides saying I Do in the land of the gods, as well as here at home in Grecian-themed ceremonies, that it only seemed right to create a sophisticated, modern invitation suite just for them!
Both the invitations and response cards feature a Greek key border – these are beautiful but tricky geometric spirals that encircle the classic type and flat-printed calligraphy. I can’t tell you how much math I did to get the spirals just the right size and spaced perfectly!
The response card comes with a coordinating navy/slate blue envelope with a texture much like the surface of the sea. They remind me of the Aegean.
Bird lover that I am, the enclosure cards are my favorite part! A sweet trio of seagulls glides above all of your event details. These cards are “full bleed” – the ink runs right up to the edge of the paper. Sleek, modern, & elegant!
For those brides planning a destination wedding as well as a reception after their honeymoon, you can customize these enclosure cards for your events. This makes planning sooooooooo much easier – you can invite individual guests to both receptions or the “at home” reception only. No more awkward telephone calls and emails.
The Save the Date card is available as a flat A7 card with a coordinating envelope, or in a postcard style. Thick & luxurious tree-free paper (100% cotton!) stands up to the rigors of the postal service pretty darn well. It’s sturdy and environmentally friendly! Coordinating table numbers, place cards, thank you cards, and other paper accessories are also available for a cohesive look from “I Can’t Wait,” to “I Can’t Believe it’s Over!”
